The Principle of Deviation in the Decisions of the Supreme Constitutional Court Discussed at the Al-Baidar Center for Studies and Planning Symposium

On Saturday, January 27, 2024, the Al-Baidar Center for Studies and Planning hosted a symposium discussing the principle of deviation in the decisions of the Supreme Constitutional Court. Mr. Judge (retired) Salem Rawdan Al-Moussawi provided an extensive explanation on the principle of reversal and the key reasons for the judiciary’s reliance on this principle, as well as the objectives behind its application. He emphasized the importance of applying the reversal principle within judicial reasoning, defined by specific controls and restrictions.
The symposium was attended by a number of experts and professionals in the legal and constitutional fields. They shared their insights and contributed their views on the discussed topic, and also examined several decisions of the Supreme Constitutional Court in this context.
