The Marja’iyah of Sayyid Al-Sistani and Citizenship Rights

The vision of Ayatollah Sayyid Al-Sistani on citizenship rights is very important; its significance is evident through his emphasis on terms related to citizenship rights in his statements, letters, and responses to journalists’ questions, such as elections, participation, ballot boxes, respecting citizens’ rights, and peaceful protests and marches. An important point in the thought of Ayatollah Al-Sistani, which can be considered as distinguishing him, is that he sees the scope of citizenship rights as broad, believing that all citizens of the country, regardless of their differences in belief, religion, ethnicity, or language, have equal rights as other citizens… etc.
